Richmond initiative invites community to talk about home, homelessness

Learn what contributes to homelessness and find out how to create an inclusive community.
Homeless
Richmond youth held a five day initiative to tackle homeless misconceptions and figure out ways on how community members can help.

The City of Richmond is inviting residents to take part in a free community conversation on the theme of "home" and homelessness.

The two-part conversation initiative is focusing on the circumstances of homelessness in the city and how residents can help create a more "connected and inclusive" community.

Part one of the event will have participants consider the meaning of homelessness through shared experiences, stories and discussion on Feb. 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. or Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Richmond Cultural Centre.

Part two will explore ideas to create a sense of belonging for everyone in the community on Feb. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Richmond Cultural Centre.

Richmond residents ages 16 and older are encouraged to join the free sessions where light refreshments and pizza will be served.
