The focus of this year's Richmond Earth Day Youth (REaDY) Summit was connecting with nature and each other.
It's an ongoing theme for the David Suzuki Foundation, which partnered with the City of Richmond and the Richmond School District for a second time to host the annual event.
David Suzuki's daughter Sarika Cullis-Suzuki, a PhD student at the University of York in the U.K, delivered the keynote speech at the three-and-a-half hour conference at Steveston-London secondary Saturday morning.
The youth-led event also included exhibitions
and workshops, and wrapped up with a call to action to take part in Canada's 30x30 Nature Challenge.
Food was provided by Harvest Power, Buddha's Light International Vancouver and Nature's Path.
