Here are three more reviews from SRC members:

Bieber Fever by Katy Sprinkel.

Review by Annie, age 9.

This book is about Justin Bieber when he was living in a small town and he was poor.

Now, he is a worldwide singing sensation. This book tells us what his life was like growing up in a small town up until now.

It tells us how he connects with his fans, friends and family. I like this book because it is about Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber is my favourite singer.

I want to know more about him and this book tells us a lot about him.

Now I know more information about Justin Bieber.

I really enjoy how Katy Sprinkel wrote this book.

I loved and enjoyed reading this book. One word: COOL!

Parvana's Journey by Deborah Ellis.

Review by Kaylin, age 10.

This book is about how a girl called Parvana, who travels around Pakistan with her father to find her mother, brother and two sisters.

Along the way, her father dies and she is left alone to face the harsh, dangerous and poor conditions of the city.

But, she is soon joined by a baby, a boy and a little girl (Houssan, Asif and Leila). I like this book because it has a lot of thoughts and feelings that the reader can kind of relate to.

For example, the dark black cloud of grief that hangs in Parvana's heart when Leila dies is often felt by people who lost something or someone that they hold dear to their heart.

Another thing that is interesting is that it is based on several true stories.

These two characteristics combined make the characters seem very realistic.

Jack Jones and the Pirate Curse by Judith Rossell.

Review by Mauricio, age 9.

This book is about a pirate curse that lasts for 10 generations. The curse makes pirates come and scare you, but Jack Jones, Roy the parrot, and his parents will try to stop the curse.

It is also story of betrayal. I like this book because I am very interested in pirates, so I decided to read a fiction book. The book was very interesting!
