Have you ever noticed how busy life is on the south arm of the Fraser River?
Richmond photographer Denis Beauvais has, and he’s shared a selection of his favourite shots captured over the last 30 days of the industry flowing up and down the channel.
Beauvais, who in his own working life focuses on wildlife and aviation, recently moved from Tsawwassen to Richmond.
And both he and his camera lens have been captivated by the traffic that utilizes that stretch of the river on a daily basis.
“As a new project, I have been documenting the river traffic: container ships, car transporters, tug barges, government hovercrafts and numerous private vessels, and positioning them against the Fraser River, Deas Island Park and Mt. Baker,” Beauvais told the Richmond News.
“A number of my lenses will allow me to see individuals inside the bridge of many of these ships.
“Since moving to Riverport Way, I am amazed at the volume and variety of marine traffic going up and down the Fraser, 24 hours a day (and no accidents).”
