More than 100 local runners, joggers and walkers tied up their shoelaces and attended the ever-popular Forever Young 8K Run on Sunday morning.
The seventh annual event, solely for people age 55 and over, kicked off at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12 outside the Richmond Olympic Oval.
Participants attended a pre-race warm-up and ran, jogged or walked along the Fraser River toward Terra Nova Rural Park before turning around and returning to the Oval.
The Richmond-based Forever Young Club is a group of mainly retired seniors with a goal to bring fun and fitness to the community.
According to the event brochure, the event is “a chance for (seniors) to gain well-deserved recognition for their commitment to fitness.”
