Three scheduled power outages expected in Richmond this week

There are a number of power outages planned for Richmond this week

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here is the power outage scheduled for this week:

Aug 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect less than five customers at:

  • 6451, 6431, 6471 and 6491 Chelmsford St.

Aug 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 32 customers at:

  • 3508-3679 Bamfield Dr.
  • 11060 and 11071 Bamfield Gate

Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pole replacement work will affect 11 customers at:

  • 10011 Blundell Rd.
  • 7660, 7680, 7700, 7720, 7740, 7760, 7951 and 7980 No 4 Rd.
  • No. 4 Road and Blundell Road.
