With technology constantly changing, it can be challenging to keep up. To help seniors living in the Richmond community with technology’s ongoing developments, the Richmond Public Library is looking for adult or senior volunteers that are comfortable working with computers and mobile devices.

“Tech Buddies,” a program run through Richmond’s libraries, aims to provide seniors with one-on-one help using common devices such as tablets, cameras, phones, laptops and eReaders.

Tech Buddies volunteers work to encourage seniors to learn how to use new pieces of technology, helping them to stay connected to friends and family.

To volunteer, email [email protected]. While volunteers don’t need to be a tech guru, they should be comfortable with tablets, Apple and Android devices and eReaders. They should also be interested in sharing knowledge with Richmond’s older community members.

The program will run on a weekly basis from September to December.
