Representatives from the Canadian Red Cross received a cheque last Friday morning.
"Although it's a single cheque, it's a joint effort with many people stepping up within two weeks to make this donation happen," said Richmond entrepreneur Anne Wang, the founder of HerPower, an organization that aims to support new immigrant woman.
Wang said many people reached out to her after floods ravaged the Fraser Valley with hopes of doing something to support people in need.
"They sent a clear message to me that we are all in this together," said Wang, adding that hopefully, this donation could spread messages of peace and love with more community members.
