The Richmond Hospice received a generous donation from the Royal Canadian Legion branch in Richmond this week.
Richmond Legion Branch 291 presented a cheque of $15,000 to the local hospice on Tuesday morning.
The funds were raised during the branch's poppy campaign last November, during which the Legion collected more than $65,000, explained Ron Fontaine, president of Richmond Legion Branch 291.
He told the Richmond News the money will be used at the discretion of Richmond Hospice to make their backyard grounds "more appealing" to residents and their families.
"Improving the views and allowing those capable to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air from their wheelchairs is our goal," said Fontaine.
"The Richmond Legion supports our veterans, our community and our youth."
