More than 50 riders will start their cross-Canada trip tomorrow morning at Richmond Olympic Oval, to raise funds for six non-profit organizations.

Across Canada 2018, hosted by Vancouver Cycle Touring Association, will have its opening ceremony at the Oval at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

Riders will sign in starting at 7 a.m. and begin their trip at 8:30 a.m., after the opening ceremony.

"We are honoured to have the City of Richmond supporting us once again and Richmond Olympic Oval as our venue sponsor," said an event organizer.

Ten riders biking from Victoria will meet with other cyclists at tomorrow's ceremony, before heading to St. John's, Newfoundland. They will travel 7,767 killometres in the following 10 weeks. Their designated finish for tomorrow will be Mission, B.C.

Multiple one-week riders will start tomorrow and bike to Kamloops.

Beside riders, there are also participants who will be walking for three kilometres to support this event and raise funds.

The six beneficiary organizations are Canadian Health Awareness Society, Christian Zheng Sheng College, Developmental Disabilities Association, D.A.R.E. BC Society, Global Aid Network and Vancouver Sower Society of Education.
