Richmond Family Place has been chosen as the River Rock Casino Resort's "signature charitable partner."

The casino's decision was based on recommendations from its employees who wanted to get involved and give back to the community many of them work and live in.

As well as financial support to the organization, the casino and Richmond Family Place, which offers frontline support to families across the community, hope to build a long and fruitful relationship, whether that's volunteering, sharing of services or other initiatives.

Already, a River Rock team member has been appointed to the board of Richmond Family Place.

"On behalf of the Richmond Family Place Board of Directors, staff and families, we are extremely grateful and thrilled to be chosen as the River Rock Casino Resort's signature charitable partner," said Kim Winchell, executive director of Richmond Family Place Society, in a press release.

"We look forward to developing a strong partnership with the River Rock team and ensuring that every child in Richmond reaches their full potential.

"The financial and voluntary contributions of the River Rock Casino Resort will make an impact in the lives of children and families by allowing us to enhance and increase our important early childhood and family support programming."

Richmond Family Place started in 1979 with a goal and mission to acknowledge and support parents rearing the children of the city.
