The City of Richmond is once again encouraging the community to nominate a person or organization for the annual Richmond Heritage Awards.
Each year, awards are given to individuals or organizations for conserving historical places or raising awareness of Richmond’s heritage.
Nomination can be submitted by anyone to the Richmond Heritage Commission by completing a one-page nomination form with the nominee's name and the reason why their work should be recognized.
Recognition for nominees can be from restoration, preservation, building awareness, local heritage education to contributions to local knowledge of heritage in public history.
“Historic buildings, cultural and natural heritage landscapes, artifacts, and oral and written histories are all rich resources that contribute to Richmond’s shared community identity today,” said the city in a media release.
Nomination forms can be found on the city's webpage and submitted to Minhee Park at [email protected]
The deadline for submissions is April 24.
