A French-Japanese-style croissant bakery has officially soft opened in Richmond.

Hazukido Cafe+ opened on the first floor of Aberdeen Centre with not only a bakery but also a brunch-style restaurant.

The global bakery chain specializing in Japanese croissants opened its first Vancouver location in Yaletown last fall.

The core philosophy of Hazukido is to adhere to the "Shokunin spirit of Japan" which essentially means dedicating themselves to the perfect execution of a skill such as creating the folds of buttery croissant dough and exciting flavours for fillings and toppings.

Aside from regular butter and chocolate croissants, the Taiwan-based bakery is known for its savoury croissants including salted egg yolk, golden cheese and truffle crab.

Hazukido's cafe also offers a full savoury menu including soups, appetizers, rice combos and brunch items.

The cafe's address is 1008-4151 Hazelbridge Way. Its soft opening hours are Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
