The annual Richmond Hospital Starlight Gala produced a special surprise recently, a $1 million donation.

Jason and Emily Ko, of Viva Pharmaceuticals, inspired others to give with their personal donation towards the hospital’s Acute Care Tower fundraising campaign.

As such, the foundation has now raised $43,680,000 of the campaign’s $50 million goal to help build the new tower.

As the main focus of the 21st gala, a new Acute Care Tower for Richmond was supported through the “Leadership Challenge” segment of the evening.

The night was a celebration of the many generous Acute Care Tower donors who had already stepped forward while inspiring others to join.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of all of our donors and including those at the Starlight Gala, we are that much closer to our goal of $50 million for the ACT NOW fundraising campaign,” said Nelson Kwan, board chair, Richmond Hospital Foundation.

“We are deeply grateful for the leadership of donors, sponsors and community champions who have rallied together to ensure Richmond gets a new Acute Tower.”
