A Richmond golf course had an unexpecting visitor inspecting their grass on Wednesday afternoon.

Don Grant, who submitted the photo, said the bird was a Chinese golden pheasant and was spotted taking up “residence on the tee box of (their) 6th hole” at the Mylora Golf Course.

Grant, told the News that he called the BCSPCA, but has no luck in getting in contact with someone.

The bird, said Grant, appears to be unafraid of humans and doesn’t run away when it’s approached.

“I’m guessing the bird is someone’s missing pet,” he said, adding that he hopes it can find its owner.

“It’s unique and quite spectacular-looking.”
