Four Richmond communities battle in semifinals for 'best' neighbourhood

Steveston leads with highest percentage of votes in Richmond

Four Richmond neighbourhoods are battling for a spot in the semifinals of Metro Vancouver's "best" neighbourhood contest.

And from the current poll results, most community members are rooting for Steveston.

This week is the third round of the Fraser River quadrant and Steveston is once again leading with 95 per cent of the votes while facing Thompson who is at 4.9 per cent.

Meanwhile, Richmond City Centre is currently at 57.7 per cent while up against Garden City with 42.3 per cent.

Last week, Steveston took the top spot with highest percentage of votes out of all the neighbourhoods, including Burnaby and New Westminster, while facing Seafair.

A total of 192 neighbourhoods in four quadrants have participated in the contest since the beginning of July.

After this week, only 32 neighbourhoods will remain.
