Attend the opening of Richmond Art Gallery’s latest exhibit

Saturday, May 4

6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Karen Tam is a Montreal-based artist who’s re-imagined Lee Nam’s painting studio in Victoria in her latest exhibit “With Wings Like Clouds Hung from the Sky.” It’s an immersive and interactive show, and the library will be offering a preview tour at 6 p.m. After that, there will be an opening reception.

Get laughing on World Laughter Day

Sunday, May 5

1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Come to Minoru Plaza at the Richmond Cultural Centre for a laughter yoga session hosted by the Richmond Laughter Club. The free event mixes yogic breathing with interactive laughter exercises. The club promises you will be smiling by the end.

Go to the annual Rock and Gem Show

Saturday, May 4 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This family-friendly event showcasing the earth’s sparkling treasures features Yukon dan gold panning demonstrations, a fluorescent minerals display, vendors and a raffle. You can enjoy games, door prizes, and hand-made jewelry. It’s at the Richmond Art and Cultural Centre
