1. Family Fun Day: Saturday, Feb. 11:

Come to the Richmond Nature Park (11851 Westminster Hwy.) for some adventures during Family Fun Day on Feb. 11- 13 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Explore the bog through special scavenger and treasure hunts. All ages are welcome. Admission is by donation. Proceeds support educational programs at the Richmond Nature Park. Disability access is available with designated parking spaces.

2. Cannery Farmer’s Market: Sunday, Feb. 12:

The Cannery Farmers’ Market returns to Steveston on Feb. 12 inside the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site (12138 Fourth Avenue). This indoor community market, operated by the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society, features local food and artisan merchants, musical entertainment, and community groups and more, all inside a unique historic cannery setting. Admission is free. Guided tours of historic cannery available on market days by donation. Call 604-664-9009.

3. Richmond Children’s Arts Festival: Monday, Feb. 13:

One of the most popular children’s event in the Lower Mainland, the Richmond Children’s Arts Festival, returns on Monday (Feb. 13) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for families to celebrate B.C. Family Day. All of the events take place at the Richmond Cultural Centre (7700 Minoru Gate), as well as the adjacent swimming pool, seniors’ centre and Richmond Arena’s. A general admission fee of $5 gets you access to a variety of activities, including Ted Harrison-inspired water color painting, making Canadian lanterns, a chance to build popsicle stick snowmen, plus party games – complete with prizes – to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.
