Slugfest at Richmond Nature Park
Slugfest at Richmond Nature Park is June 1, 2014. Slugs will compete in various contests.

The Richmond Nature Park is live streaming baby chicks until mid-June.

On Monday, May 26 six Black-capped Chickadee eggs hatched with mom and dad looking on. The nest was built in a birdhouse that has a camera fitted above it, allowing viewers to log in to livestream.com

The Richmond Nature Park expects the chicks to stay with the parents for about two weeks, meaning they may not always be visible.

The Nature Park is a non-profit organization that promotes the city's natural environment and holds educational seminars, often for young children. It's located at 11852 Westminster Highway

On Sunday, June 1 the group is holding slug races, dubbed Slugfest from 1-4 p.m. If you can believe it there are slug contests for beauty, heavyweight and largest and smallest slug.
