Community Safety Career Achievement Award - RCMP: S/Sgt. Dan Painter (retired) Dan Painter is an extremely dedicated family man with tremendously strong values. He joined the RCMP Aug. 23, 1977. He was transferred to Richmond in 1988.

Dan Painter is an extremely dedicated family man with tremendously strong values.

He joined the RCMP Aug. 23, 1977. He was transferred to Richmond in 1988. Painter dedicated the next 11 years to the Richmond detachment, in general duty policing, general investigations, crime prevention/victim services and the fraud unit. During this time, he was one of the instrumental investigators involved in the safe return of kidnapping victim Carmen Liu in 1998.

In 2002, Painter was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal. In 2009, he returned to Richmond detachment to serve as the senior administrative NCO.

His knowledge of the community and detachment operations was a tremendous and invaluable asset to the leadership team.
