Team kata is part of an action-packed schedule on Saturday for the 47th annual Steveston Karate Invitational.

The Steveston Karate Club is hosting its 47th annual invitational on Saturday at the Steveston Indoor Tennis Courts.

The event is considered one of the most prestigious tournaments in the Pacific Northwest with an estimated 400 entries from Oregon Washington, California, Alberta and throughout BC.

This year’s special’s guests is the JFK (Japan Karate-do Federation) national team, along with athletes from Kokusai Budo University, with sensei Takamasa Arakawa,

There will be a wide range of age in belt and age categories for both kata and kumite with competitions running throughout the day.

Admission is $8 for adults, $3 for youth (7-14) while children six and under are free.
