Richmond Roadrunners captain Josh Bourne is congratulated by Mitchell Ely on one of his three goals in Sunday's regular season finale against the Coquitlam Adanacs at Minoru Arenas. The Roadrunners open the B.C. Junior B Tier 1 Lacrosse League playoffs Thursday when Port Coquitlam is in town for game one of a best-of-three series. Game time is 8 p.m.

The Richmond Roadrunners will open a best-of-three B.C. Junior “B” Tier One Lacrosse League quarter-final series against the Port Coquitlam Saints on Thursday night (8 p.m.) at Minoru Arenas.

The Saints (11-7-0) finished fourth and the No. 5 seed Roadrunners (10-7-1) were just a single point back. The series shifts to PoCo on Friday night and, if necessary, a deciding game would go on Sunday, also in PoCo.

The teams split a pair of league meetings, including an 11-7 Richmond win on June 19.

The Roadrunners closed out their regular season Sunday with a 12-8 home floor loss to the league-leading Coquitlam Adanacs.

Captain Josh Bourne paced the hosts with six points, including a hat trick. Liam O’Connor also scored three times while Brock Jung adding a pair.

With standout goalie Riku Jokela getting a rare day off, Jake Spare stepped in to make 44 saves.
