13U Air Attack Black enjoyed a terrific run in the playoff round at last weekend's Volleyball BC Provincial Club Championships in Abbotsford, falling just short to a Surrey team in the gold medal match.

Air Attack’s 13U girls Black team has come away with a silver medal at last weekend’s Provincial Championships in Abbotsford.

The Richmond-based club got off to a bit of a shaky start in round-robin play, dropping all three of its matches to place third in pool play. However, the girls re-grouped and got progressively stronger as the tournament moved into the playoff phase.

Air Attack Black pulled out a thrilling three-set win over Burnaby’s Focus Falcons, then produced 2-0 victories against first place pool finishers Elevate Peak (Abbotsford) and Apex Army (Vancouver) in the quarter and semi-final play respectively.

The gold medal match against Surrey’s Rain City Rush was another three-set tiebreaker thriller that saw the girls come up just short — ending a terrific weekend.

The roster includes: Adelle Larden, Bella Bae, Catalina Casas, Elle Sweetman, Emily Nagata, Isabella Shury, Jenelle Dee, Lauren Oliveros, Malia Butat, Robin Ui, Stephanie Sofikitis and Tiana Maedel.

The girls are coached by Air Attack alumni Jaylen Yee along with assistants Mike Yee and Rebekah Prasad, another club alumni.
