The hockey world will be united in Richmond exactly one year from today for the “Olympics of Recreational Hockey.
The 2020 CARHA Hockey World Cup will feature over 140 teams from 15 countries coming together.
More than 2,500 participants will compete at the Richmond Olympic Oval, the Richmond Ice Centre, and Minoru Arenas over the course of the week, (March 29-April 5) while staying at various hotels in the city.
Spare time will be spent enjoying the city’s finest bars, restaurants, and sightseeing opportunities, resulting in an estimated economic impact of $12-15 million.
The CARHA Hockey World Cup includes a Parade of Athletes as the attendees march into the Opening Ceremonies after travelling from around the world, an Athletes’ Village throughout the tournament at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel (Host Hotel) and lastly, the Closing Ceremonies to conclude the event.
During the course of the weeklong event, the community can look forward to free admission to over 240 games.

“With a great host team, experienced volunteers, outstanding venues and the many excellent attractions and services in Richmond, we’re confident the 2020 CARHA Hockey World Cup will be the best yet.”
CARHA Hockey organizers thrilled to bring the event to such a passionate, vibrant, and multi-cultural city, showcasing the very best that Canada has to offer to hockey players from all around the world.
“The response from teams has been tremendous to date and the event has been virtually sold out since 2018,” said Tournament Manager Lucy Peeling. “We are so excited to now be one year out from bringing the CARHA Hockey World Cup to Richmond, and we can’t wait for all of our participants to experience the same welcome that our organization has received from the community.”
