Ravens guard a great role model for the program

It was a decorated Grade 12 season for guard Usman Tung

Usman Tung was not only an all-star at last month's provincial championships, he had easily the best tribute sign as well.

Among the Grade 12s playing their final high school game on Saturday was MacNeill standout Usman Tung.
The guard went from not even being a Third Team All-Star in his Grade 11 year to winning the city MVP award, a Lower Mainland First Team All-Star and a Second Team Provincial All-Star.
Now there is the potential of continuing his career at the collegiate level.
“That’s something (co-coach) Peter (Thackwray) and I were talking about. Just all his accomplishments this year. It’s unbelievable. Just his consistency, he was our leading scorer, rebounder, assists or steals in at least one of those categories in all the games.
“He is not a gym rat but he works really hard in practice and is competitive. He realized we did have the potential and he wanted to see how far we and he could go. He is a great model for a lot of our kids. He didn’t do any academy ball. He just goes to the park and goes to the gym.”
