Harrison Boxing is hosting a amateur boxing event on Dec. 1 at the Richmond Sports Club.

Greg Harrison, the former boxer turned trainer, is hoping to match the excitement of last year's card which was highlighted by the performance of Josh van Rhyn.

"Our show last year was a smashing success, in no small part to our young fighter," noted Harrison. "His city title bout was awarded 'fight of the year' and everyone that attended said it was one of the more exciting amateur matches they had seen. Due to an injury, Josh will not be part of this event but we have an exciting line up for boxing fans.

"For this event, I am pleased to announce we are putting a B.C. title on the line for our main event. We also will have two young female amateur boxers competing in the mix."

Any fans that bring donations for the food bank will be eligible to win prizes as well.

Harrison has been involved in kickboxing and boxing for 17 years as a competitor, coach, corner man and judge.

He fought in 12 pro boxing fights and two amateur kickboxing fights throughout B.C., Alberta, Washington, Oregon and Nevada.

The Dec. 1 boxing event gets underway at 7 p.m. The Richmond Sports Club is located at 2251 No. 5 Road.

Tickets are $20. Visit www.harrisonboxing.com for more information or email glharrison@dccnet.com.
