A pair of one-time teammates at the Pee Wee rep level in Richmond are included in the NHL Scouting Bureau’s Mid-Term Rankings for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Defenceman Trey Taylor (No. 189) and forward Lukas Svejkovsky (No. 195) are recognized among the top North American Skaters.

They were teammates back in 2014 on a powerhouse Seafair Islanders Pee Wee A1 team that was coached by Yogi Svejkovsky — Lukas’ father and Seafair’s skills instructor at the time.

The Islanders took their season to the renowned Quebec International Pee Wee Tournament.

Both boys spent some time in the Delta Hockey Academy before launching their junior careers.

Taylor is in his second full season with the B.C. Hockey League’s Vernon Vipers where he serves as an alternate captain. He has 13 points in 40 games, including five goals.

Svejkovsky is now a member of the Western Hockey League’s Medicine Hat Tigers after being traded last month by the Vancouver Giants. He has 20 points in 32 games, highlighted by seven goals since joining the Tigers 14 games ago.

The 2020 NHL Entry Draft takes place June 26-27 in Montreal.
