Cambie Secondary School’s new cheer team came up with a big win on the weekend at the Mardi Pardi Cheerleading Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
The Crusaders not only won their division but became the first city team in recent memory to be crowned High School Grand Champion for the highest score among all the schools competing at the event.
The squad was launched a year ago by teacher Mugi Masaki and has been hard at work since.
Members include: Ashley Poon, Brittany Tsang, Lana Domingo, Isabel Daos, Rhenee Barcita, Chanel Dazo, Erryan Parilla, Samantha Pang, Dominique Vega, Riya Bangera, Amy Wong, Mikaela Rodriguez, Aleisha Daniels, Vanessa Hung, Ashleen Sindhar, Aaliyah Egharevba, Amy Aginsky, Raymond Li and Shaun Mitchley.
