25th annual West Coast Classic underway

The 25th annual West Coast Classic will feature the BC Thunder's three-game series with the Edmonton WAM! in National Ringette League action. The Thunder are coached by Richmond's Troy Takasaki.

The biggest weekend of the year for ringette in Richmond is well underway.

The 25th edition of the West Coast Classic have attracted teams from throughout BC and Alberta to the Richmond Ice Centre, Minoru Arenas and even rinks in Delta. Th Richmond Ringette hosted event will conclude with division championship games on Sunday afternoon at the RIC — starting at 1 p.m.

Once again the tourney will be showcasing the BC Thunder of the National Ringette League.

The Thunder will take on the Edmonton WAM! At 630 p.m. tonight at the RIC’s Forum Rink. They will then conclude the weekend series with two more games on Sunday — 8:30 a.m. at the Forum and 2:30 p.m. at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

BC enters the weekend third in the Western Division with a 7-5 record and just a game back of Edmonton.
