Photos: Snow blankets Richmond

Share your snow photos with the News.

Snow has officially blanketed Richmond on Sunday.

Some Richmond residents have excitedly gone outdoors searching for photo opportunities, while others are bound to their dog owner duties to walk their pup in the cold weather.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning with five to 10cm of snow to fall across Metro Vancouver and 10 to 15cm in the Fraser Valley today.

The weather agency's report said that "strong easterly outflow winds will accompany the arctic front producing areas of reduced visibility."

Windchills of -10C are expected later in the afternoon.

"Due to the rapid cooling through the day due to the arctic front, wet exposed surfaces on roads and sidewalks could freeze rapidly and become hazardous."

Drivers and pedestrians are asked to travel with precaution.
