Dear Editor, Re: “More than Chinese to be remembered,” Letters, Aug. 2. The letter from Morris McWhirter, reflects how Richmond, specifically Steveston, should celebrate all of Richmond’s diversity.

I’m not exactly the type to want to smash a plate against a wall. When I’m angry, I prefer to employ one of the “have some alone time,” “go for a walk,” “take a few deep breaths” or “do a yoga practice” methods to calm down.

Summertime is fantastic for riding a bike. Not only do we get some superb weather in Richmond, but during the summer, because of the brighter, longer days it’s ultimately a safer time to ride.

Dear Editor, I read with interest the recent news about a Chinese lawyer wanting to run for mayor. She claimed the Chinese are being discriminated against. Balderdash! I took a recent walk in Steveston and noticed there was only a Chinese bunkhouse.

Dear Editor, Re: “Hoping for better,” Letters, July 26. Thank you, Andrea Chan. I, for one, did not know about the redevelopment of the Sears store in Richmond Centre and I’m dismayed to hear about 2,000 condo units are going in that location.

Dear Editor, “Richmond crews continue battle wildfire for second day,” Richmond-News.com, July 28. My admiration for firefighters, already high, escalated July 27, when the fire erupted near the Richmond Nature Park.

Dear Richmond artists and art enthusiasts everywhere, You may rest assured that you are in very good hands with the council’s decision to give themselves the power to approve or refuse any piece of artwork on public or private property.

Dear Editor, Residents of Richmond are deeply concerned with certain members of city council for voting to allow mega mansions on ALR land.

Dear Editor, I really want to send out my sincere thanks to all the hard workers who make our medians such a joy to drive by. We must be the best in the Lower Mainland as I don’t see the other areas as good.
