Re: "Numbers are not the issue," Letters, Feb.15.

I am an immigrant too. There are many others living here in Richmond who try to make this city their new home and they are as frustrated as we are. I spent a lot of time learning English so I could live here and fit in.

No matter how bad my English was, Canadians always made a point of trying to understand me and make me feel welcome.

We all knew we would have to learn English, and I'm sure most of us thought this would be enough to go into a store and understand what it has to offer.

So, yes, please make all immigrants welcome, let's all speak the language of the land.
