A driver was caught in Richmond for speeding.

Dear Editor,

Re: “Speed status quo recommended on No. 3 Road in Richmond city centre"

Speed is a problem in Richmond, not only on No. 3 Road from Granville to Westminster Highway, but on all roads.

You would have to be blind to not see how fast traffic moves along all main roads in Richmond.

The rush from light to light and multiple lane changes along the way.

I have noticed that many of the cars are what seem to be entitled EV drivers.

The speed limit seems to be just a suggestion rather than the law.

Don't get me wrong as there are plenty of other cars that also feel the need for speed.

The local RCMP sometimes do a targeted speed enforcement, but not on a daily basis.

One only needs to go along Steveston Highway, No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 or No 5 roads, Sidaway Road in the early morning and find it is more like a race track than a city road.

East-west roads are no better.

Put in full-time, all hours of the day enforcement and solve the problem.
