Set better examples for kids

The Editor,

It's that time of year again - spring break.

The days are longer, the weather is warmer and some teenagers are making misguided choices.

Last week, I was walking in my neighbourhood only to find a bin lit on fire at a school.

This was done by a group of boys I walked past, not half an hour beforehand.

I'm calling out to you: This is an elementary school, set a better example for the kids.

I recognize that these acts of vandalism are nothing new.

However, it struck a chord, putting out that fire on my old school's grounds.

I'd love to know if there are any neighbourhood watch programs in the area, and encourage them to contact me so that we can make our community a better and safer place for our kids and ourselves.

Enough is enough.
