Re: "Mayor not cheering new RCMP deal," News, March 28.
Mayor Brodie says he is not sure what options Richmond will have if it comes to severing RCMP ties.
I would like to suggest he has a great option similar to what Matsqui RCMP and the Abbotsford Police did back in 1995 - merge with another police department.
Richmond could merge police services with the very effective and professional Delta Police Department just across the river.
Perhaps call it the South Fraser Regional Police. It's long overdue and perhaps other municipalities would follow.
