Letters: Too many broken fixtures at Minoru

A Richmond News reader is none too pleased with the Minoru Centre for Active Living

The Minoru Centre for Active Living

Dear Editor,

I was very excited to enjoy the facilities at the Minoru Centre for Active Living.

The new and spacious venue is really beneficial to our community. Many aspects of the facility are great, especially the individual changing rooms and showers. However, I was also surprised at how many appliances were already out of order; that is not acceptable for a new venue.

The broken appliances include the lockers, the latches of the shower and change rooms did not work properly (one door had to be slammed quite hard to close and become locked), water from the shower heads stopped suddenly (fortunately I had finished my shower) and some of the handheld shower heads were broken.

The lights in the shower rooms turned off suddenly (twice I had to finish my shower in the dark). Most of the sockets for hair blowers did not work (many said the sockets with two outlets cannot be used at the same time or it will be broken.)

I have never seen so many broken fixtures and appliances in a venue before, especially not one that is so new. I hope the management can address these issues as soon as possible, so that this new facility can be enjoyed to its full potential.
