Dear Editor,
Re: “Lack of compensation for Doukhobor religious group disappointing: B.C. ombudsperson,” Richmond-News.com, July 18.
While most Canadians are aware of our government’s slow handling of any kind of acceptance of blame for past wrongdoing against any culture, we should hold the government to quick account in matters which affect children.
Our government is a reflection of our choices and I, for one, am disgusted with our response to yet another example of ignorance by them.
Why is there even a question of whether or not they deserve cash compensation?
The only question is “how much?”
Stop wasting taxpayer money and time and pay up and shut up.
And read the room and smarten up.
