Letters: People have lost critical thinking skills

Dear Editor,

Re: "Column: Free, robust press needed in an increasingly secretive world"

Tracy Sherlock, what you say in your column is too true. And people only keep secrets because they don’t want others to know (about their incompetency).

As you know, there is so much “fake news” out there, too, it is incredible.

Also, people have lost the ability to critically think about things, witness the recent kerfuffle about safe injection sites here in Richmond.

I am sure that the people who will rally on Monday know little or nothing about the issue, and have not been touched by a member of their family dying as a result of toxic drugs! Shame on them.

Although the “free” internet has been a godsend in many ways, it is also used for “evil” as well, unfortunately.

I wonder what we can do about it.

Keep up the good work.
