A Richmond News reader is in favour of the location chosen for a temporary bus loop in Steveston Village.

Dear Editor,

Re: "Richmond residents petition for new bus loop plans"

The proposed bus nest at Moncton Street and 7th Avenue by Garry Point Park is an improvement over where it is now.

Presently it is next to a crosswalk and obstructs a driver's view of it and also obstructs the view when travelling south on 2nd Avenue crossing Chatham Street. It has been there since 1970 and was bad then and worse now.

There used to be one or two buses, now it is clogged on both sides of Chatham with up to seven that I have counted.

As far as the new location goes, this proposed loop on Moncton Street is a public road with a very wide footpath on its north side which pedestrians do not use. They walk on the road like sheep. Educate them on this bad habitat, it's a road!

Across from the community centre is not an option. TransLink cannot use it because it is too small despite what Coun. Carol Day says. They rule the roost, like it or not.
