Letters: Flash flood turns school field into lake for boat ‘test drive’

Some Richmond students test drove a boat they'd built in the flooded field

Dear Editor,

A mini flash flood occurred at R.C. Palmer Secondary school and flooded a huge area of the soccer field along with the field at Garden City elementary.

Our school decided to take a boat we’d built in a metalworking class out onto the water for a little test drive.

Although the flooding had blocked off a huge majority of the cement pathways to our school, we decided to look at the bright side by taking turns riding the boat into the deep waters; we had a lot of fun slowly but steadily riding the water.
