Letters: Canada Day in Richmond was a great success

A Richmond News reader had nothing but praise for the organizers of the Steveston Salmon Festival

Dear Editor,

Congratulations to Alan Sakai, the Steveston Community Society and all the volunteers who produced an amazing Canada Day celebration in a new format.  It was wonderful to walk from Britannia Shipyards to Gary Point and take in all the sights and festivities without too much congestion.  The music was great, with lots of variety for all age groups.

The zones were a good idea making it possible for everyone to feel comfortable, and thanks to the City of Richmond for the water stations.

There were many red and white shirts visible and Canadian flags were flying.  We have much to be grateful for as Canadians, and it was a lovely day to celebrate our good fortune and diversity.
