Dear Editor,
Re: “Giving Parkinson’s the old one-two,” Feature, July 16.
I read with interest Philip Raphael’s article, “Giving Parkinson’s the old one-two” in the Friday issue of the Richmond News.
I am happy for Mr. Fattedad that he has found an exercise program that meets his needs.
I also have Parkinson’s disease. I do not drive, and I live in Richmond. I would like to point out that an exercise program for people with Parkinson’s was held at Steveston Community Centre and Minoru Place Activity Centre this past winter and spring and will be available again this fall. It is called Parkinson Wellness Recovery (PWR!)
The certified instructor uses exercises that promote flexibility, balance, high energy and whole body movements.
Those of us who participated last season look forward to more classes this fall.
