Ryan Lake in his "Epistle to the Rational" correctly predicted that his comments in his letter of July 11, Richmond News, would stir up a hornets' nest of righteous indignation from some in the Christian community.

Branko Popazivanov in his "Epistle to the Gullible" proved Lake's point exactly. It is true that Ramblin' Ryan can sometimes ramble on, but I would rather read his "stream of conscience" comments of the here and now than Popazivanov's thoughts on the there and then.

Over the years, Popazivanov has amused us with one missive after another

on all things Christian, but sadly they all contain too many denials - denying the Earth is billions of years old, denying we have a climate change crisis and denying the world is over populated.

It is a truism, when entering a religious establishment, you have to park your reason at the door and accept the preacher's lobbying for his particular deity to be accepted as the only true one. This is the definition of faith.

We humans are the captain of the ship and we have to deal with the reality of what we are doing, not be sidetracked by religious zealots who put all their faith in a deity who cannot help us.
