Richmond - The Editor, Re: "More traffic action needed," Letters, Dec. 4. Was excessive speed a factor in these accidents? How will slowing traffic down on Steveston Highway prevent them? That is very casual assumption or correlation to make.

Well, the past week wasn't exactly a stellar one for Premier Christy Clark's Families First agenda.

The Editor, Re: "New voices dispel old myths," Letters, Nov. 22. Richmond Public Library would like to thank Mr. Ling (James) Hung for his inspiring and kind words regarding the Writerin-Residence program at the library.

Richmond - The Editor, Let me start by saying I do not support the burning of coal, it pollutes the air we breathe and the water we drink.The transport of coal in populated areas poses a direct risk to health.

Richmond - The Editor, Re: "Tragic weekend on Richmond roads," News, Nov. 27.I feel for the families of the latest tragedies on Richmond roads.What we don't seem to face up to is the fact that our roads seem to set their own speed limits.

The provincial government is driving forward its promise of holding a referendum on TransLink. Or perhaps, "driving forward" isn't the correct euphemism in this case.

The Federal Liberals may be celebrating polling success in the four bye-lections held Monday, but so many disparate factors were at play that it's too soon to anoint Justin Trudeau as the party's saviour.

The Editor, Usually at this time of the year I wonder what I can do to help others to show my gratitude for having such an amazing life.

Richmond - The Editor, Re: "Tragic weekend on Richmond roads," News, Nov. 27.It was with sadness that I read this article. I am a driver and a walker in Richmond, and I agree that drivers need to slow down and everyone needs to be more aware.
