The Editor, I am very sad to see some dishonest campaigns being run in Richmond. Several campaigns have had their party signs uprooted and removed. Flyers and posters have also been removed from businesses by some opposing candidates.

The Editor, When going out to vote this coming Saturday, please put some thought into who you are voting for. Don’t just vote for a name that you have been seeing for years.

F or the past several years the energy giant Kinder Morgan has benefited in the public eye from the simple fact that it wasn’t Enbridge, another big energy company wanting to do what KM wants to do: build a pipeline to carry bitumen from Alberta.

We have to hand it to everyone. Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen members of the community, fellow news media and even the election candidates themselves do a good job of holding prospective council members’ feet to the fire.

November is Financial Literacy Month. This is an initiative of Financial Literacy Action Group (FLAG), a coalition of seven organizations that work to assist and improve the financial literacy of Canadians.

With the proliferation of sushi bars in Richmond, you’d think we would be drinking more saké than we do. One of the reasons is that, even in Japanese restaurants, there is often only one brand, and it’s usually an inexpensive one.

The Editor, I drove into Richmond Oct. 27 at 8 a.m. from Langley to attend a WorkSafeBC appointment. I missed the turn into the parking lot from Westminster Hwy., so turned right onto Elmbridge and couldn’t enter the lot that way.

The Editor, Re: A Struggle to forgive ‘n’ forget,” News, Nov. 7, 2014. My heart goes out to Ms. Maag for the horrors she endured during her time at the camp. No person should ever have these scars and memories.

The Editor, I would like to express my gratitude for the support Richmond’s local newspapers have given to the process of helping voters get to know the candidates and their thoughts on current issues.
