It's down to the finish line for candidates vying for your vote in New Westminster-Burnaby for the Oct. 21 federal election.

The deadline to register to vote in the Oct. 24 provincial election is looming.

Elections BC says voter registration by phone and online closes Saturday, September 26.

Voters can register to vote or update their voter information:

  • By calling 1-800-661-8683 until 8 p.m. PST on Saturday, Sept. 26
  • Online at elections.bc.ca/ovr until 11:59 p.m. PST on Saturday, Sept. 26

Elections BC is encouraging voters to make sure their information is up-to-date now, so that they can vote faster when they go to the polls.

After the deadlines, voters can still register to vote or update their information when they vote, however, the voting process will take longer.

Further, voters can still request a vote-by-mail package online or by phone after the Saturday deadline.

However, if they haven’t registered, or their voter information is out of date, they will need to take additional steps, such as providing copies of their identification when returning the vote-by-mail package.

The Elections BC contact centre will be open until 8 p.m. PST Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
