Two public transit buses collided during morning rush hour traffic this week, on Steveston Highway, just east of the Shell Road intersection.

On Tuesday, July 17, at around 7:45 a.m., the buses – the community shuttle C93 and the larger 404 - collided on Steveston Highway near Seaward Gate.

TransLink told the Richmond News that the C93 rear-ended the 404, causing damage to both vehicles.

However, they did not offer any explanation as to the cause of the crash.

Richmond RCMP responded shortly after the accident and no injuries were reported, according to Cpl. Dennis Hwang.

Both drivers were cooperative and the RCMP has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.

Photos submitted to social media site Reddit showed that the entire door of the community shuttle had broken off and the rear left corner of the 404 was also scraped off.
