Richmond stabbing sends man to hospital

A 34-year-old man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a stabbing near Francis and No. 1 roads at approximately 8 p.m. on Jan. 23.

A 34-year-old man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a stabbing near Francis and No. 1 roads at approximately 8 p.m. on Jan. 23.

The incident, which happened in a home, had traffic between Kirkmond and Newmond roads on Francis Road blocked off.

Richmond RCMP said that early stages of investigation suggests that an “altercation” between two people caused the incident.

“The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that the parties involved are known to each other and there is no threat to the public,” according to the media statement.

The RCMP is asking for anyone who has further information to call the police at 604-278-1212.
