The Richmond RCMP were at an agricultural property in the northeastern part of Richmond Friday as part of an “ongoing property investigation,” according to the B.C. RCMP’s spokesperson.

One Richmond RCMP car plus three unmarked police vehicles were parked along the street outside the property in the 18,000 block of River Road near No. 8 Road. One large truck was visible in the driveway.

The Mounties were first at the property Aug. 8, between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., accompanied by tow trucks, and were seen removing items from the site. The Mounties were back at the property Aug. 9, according to an anonymous tip received by the Richmond News.

The person added that they thought the police were “removing a whole bunch of stolen property” from the site, however this has not been verified by RCMP.

The property, which has a hidden driveway, has overgrown and unmaintained bushes. There is a metal structure, resembling a small hut, which is visible from the driveway. There was also debris scattered about.

The News has reached out to the Richmond RCMP for more information.
