The Richmond News was made aware of the video on Monday morning, which purported to show a female city employee knocking on a door to get the homeowner to open it.

According to the post, the “incident” happened Sunday and led to the homeowner being robbed of cash and jewelry.

Thousands of people are understood to have watched the video via various social media platforms.

However, Richmond RCMP has told the News that the video is about two years old and may not even be local.
